Falkoski (2012) conducted a quantitative research process to explore employee burnout. As a quantitative study utilizing a descriptive research design, employees were surveyed anonymously to determine possible correlations between burnout, engagement, coping, and workplace motivators. Falkoski’s (2012) research focused on three primary questions. Is there a relationship between burnout and coping strategies for individuals in the medical or mental health fields? Falkoski (2012) utilized four different surveys in order to research the different identified hypotheses. Data was collected from the online surveys that were on suveymonkey.com that was received from 268 participants. Overall, Falkoski (2012) was able to explore and assist to identify possible motivators that employers can try to better motivate employees. The anonymity of the surveys used was effective to retrieve honest and vulnerable answers from participants. Employees were able to identify both positive and negative ways they cope with the difficulties of the job as well as possibly motivators that could assist to reduce emotional exhaustion.
