How ethical behavior impacts business decisions by corporations

For this project you will be completing a 4-5 page paper that will focus on the topic of business ethics. The paper needs to be prepared in a way that is organized, free from grammatical and punctuation errors and is college-level. You should use a clear font that is highly readable with a font no larger than 12 and no smaller than 10. Your paper should be double spaced and include a title page and a Works Cited page (these two pages do not count towards the 4-5 required pages). You also need to use in-text citations throughout your paper giving credit to your sources for thoughts other than your own. Your paper needs to adhere to college wide policies on academic integrity so be very careful not to plagiarize and to give credit to your sources when necessary. The paper is worth 150 points and must be submitted through the Blackboard Assignment link. In the paper you will compare and contrast the differences between corporate social responsibility and ethical behavior by a corporation. In the paper you will need to consider and incorporate your thoughts about the following (I suggest you include a separate heading for each of these sections in your paper): • How ethical behavior impacts business decisions by corporations • Why organizations today need to demonstrate social responsibility to be considered ethical • Describe some of the ethical issues faced by organizations • Describe the process organizations use to establish a code of ethics to encourage ethical behavior • Discuss ways in which a corporation’s stakeholders influence its policies on social responsibility Once you have discussed all of the above in your paper, research and include discussion of a recent ethical violation by a corporation. Your paper should describe what happened, how it happened and what the result of the ethical violation was for the corporation and the people involved. Also describe the effect on stakeholders. A rubric is available for the assignment.

Social Class and Families with Adults in Mid- and Later Life.

Social Class and Families with Adults in Mid- and Later Life. Academic Level : Bachelor Paper details Introduction Class position intensifies or alleviates the impact of crisis situations on families at each family life cycle. It influences whether family members receive higher education or life-saving surgery. It affects whether the family turns to paid helpers or unpaid relatives during times of need. It determines whether families immigrate together or separately. One member’s serious illness can also cause job loss and even homelessness if working-class relatives lose work time to care for their ill family member. In this assignment, you will explore how the family life cycle is impacted by social class position and will then develop a Fact Sheet for your assigned population. You will be assigned to research either the elderly or adolescent/teen population based on the 1st letter of your last name. (See Content Expectations for the assigned topic.) Assignment Overview: What is a Fact Sheet? Fact sheets are short reports that present information in a readable and interesting format. They enable scientists and researchers to concisely summarize the results of research, so it is shareable with the public or other professionals. A useful Fact Sheet has a clear organization and structure. It names the issue at hand, discusses relevance, gives data (usually numerical or statistical), describes interventions and makes recommendations. Because Fact Sheets summarize data in a report format, they must provide accurate citations and references for the sources. An example of a Fact Sheet is provided by the National Partnership for Women and Families: Healthy Families Fact Sheet (Links to an external site.) . General Format and Audience Most fact sheets are two pages in length. They should have a good balance of text (in a readable font), white space, and images or charts and graphs. An effective fact sheet is informative and visually interesting. Many use a two-column format, as well as color fonts, headers and photographs.

It is important to keep your audience in mind, as you write the text for your Fact Sheet. Use headings throughout the Fact Sheet to guide your reader through the Fact Sheet. For the purposes of this assignment, assume you are working with an agency and are developing this Fact Sheet for distribution among the general public to share information regarding the impact that social class has on the family life cycle. Content Expectations Produce a two-page Fact Sheet on the topic of Social Class and the Family Life Cycle (see the specific topic assignments below based on the first letter of your last name). You will use your assigned textbook readings and two additional resources found on your own to complete your Fact Sheet. If the first letter of your last name is A–I you will develop a Fact Sheet on Social Class and Families with Young Children. If the first letter of your last name is J–R you will develop a Fact Sheet on Social Class and Families with Late Adolescents/Young Adults. If the first letter of your last name is S–Z you will develop a Fact Sheet on Social Class and Families with Adults in Mid- and Later Life. Your fact sheet should: Describe the concept of social class Explain the types of families that are included in each social class position described in your textbook: professional-managerial class, working class, and underclass.

Staff Training For Child Abuse Reporting

Description School counselors will often become aware of children and youth who have been abused. Such awareness might come from the child or adolescent directly describing the abuse to the counselor—or from teachers, staff, or parents reporting the suspected abuse to them. One important role of the school counselor is to ensure that child abuse reporting laws and policies are followed. Many times, counselors are called on to coordinate training of the school staff on child abuse reporting laws and school policies relevant to reporting. Counselors may train the staff themselves or have local child abuse professionals deliver child abuse reporting training. For this Assignment, research the available resources in your community for child abuse reporting and prevention programs. Then, conceptually develop training for the staff on recognizing the signs of sexual abuse, and how to prevent and report child abuse. The Assignment: (2–3 pages, not including appendices): Submit an outline for a training lesson plan. Include, in the appendix, the actual copies of your own: *State laws about reporting child abuse *A statement about the ethical responsibilities for counselors and teachers to report child abuse *A summary of the district or school level policies concerning reporting child abuse *One national and one local child abuse prevention resource that you might utilize in the training you create *A child abuse reporting brochure to give to staff and teachers at your school that summarizes the reporting procedures

Strategic Asset Management

Description

Coca Cola made the decision on 1 June 2017 to acquire Sunshine Sugar based in Northern NSW as part of a strategic move to secure their supply chain. While the rationale for the acquisition was strategic, the Sunshine Sugar entity is still expected to contribute to the financial outcome of the group. At the time of acquisition, Sunshine Sugar had approved budgets for revenue and expenditure to June 2018, and forecasts to June 2019. These budgets and forecasts have been incorporated into the consolidated group figures. The Risk and Audit Committee of the Coca Cola Board recommended that a detailed risk review of the Sunshine Sugar budgets and forecasts be undertaken, so that any potential impacts on the consolidated group financials can be understood. As part of this process the Board has requested that a desktop asset risk review of Sunshine Sugar be undertaken. As a Senior Asset Manager in Coca Cola, this task has been delegated to you. The board has requested that the plan for this asset review be considered at its September board meeting, and subject to approval, the Desk top review is to be reported at the December board meeting. The Desk Top Asset Risk Review Plan is to be limited to 1000 words with accompanying Gannt Chart and must address: Context issues; Resource requirements; Methodology for the review; Review schedule; Key areas of concern/issues for consideration (considering context); List of specific anticipated findings that may generate concern regarding Sunshine Sugar asset management practices (key items to be investigated).
