I believe living a moral life gives me a sense of purpose in knowing right from wrong. I don’t like the idea of knowing that I could do what ever I wanted to do and there wouldn’t be any repercussions for my actions. That means if I’m doing what ever i want all the time, I would lose respect for all mankind and would start hurting a lot of people with my actions and words because if I am not held accountable for my behavior, this would motivate me to say hurtful. Just because one may be doing what they would like, doesn’t mean people don’t still have feelings. We must remember that everyone isn’t fit to have the option of doing what ever they would like to do.

I would rather live in a world where everyone knows right from wrong and are held accountable for their actions. This will keep a lot of chaos down in the present and future. In this world, there is enough killings and bad things happening now, so giving people the okay to get away with any and everything is foolish. We need order in our lives to keep us balanced and out of trouble. You can’t expect that everyone is going to choose the right thing to do when it comes to have that decision. My decision would be to do the right thing, but I don’t believe all people are good. Its important that life remains balanced as it is because things can turn out worse if things were not in the order in which we live now.

Ethics and morals are sometimes used interchangeably but they are different. One’s morals defines a persons character and sometimes can be exemplified through an ethical behavior. Someones moral belief may not align with their ethical decision but within healthcare an ethical behavior can save ones life compared to moral beliefs. If a personal such as Gyges given the opportunity to do whatever and get away with it, I highly doubt that morals would be on his mind. Within moments of free will often times we never think about how a decision may impact us in the end, we tend to focus on the moment and if we can get away with it.

When it comes to living a moral life, I believe that one has to already have standards and values set for them self. If you know that doing wrong is wrong and you continuously enact the behavior, at that point you can begin to think that it is okay. In order to see the value in morals, you have to think differently and not be easily influenced. Although corruption may be going on around you, you have to stay true to your character and always put God first. God allows us free will but it is still up to us to live righteously and rely on his word. Life on earth is not forever so if your living through Christ you will always repent for any willing unlawful behavior. God can grant you eternal life as long as you abide by his way of life. We each have to live for God and not for ourselves. I repeat Phil 4:6, as a reminder that I do not have to worry.

Life brings about a wealth of challenges. As time passes, new temptations bombard day-to-day routines. The pressures of conformity are more serious now in today’s society is ever before. The Proverbs scripture contains two words that the writer will examine in this submission. First, integrity can be defined as doing the right thing for the right reasons, no matter the circumstance. A person with great integrity lives his life with a commitment to living a moral and righteous life. Letgodbetrue.com (2019), asserts that, “But living your life by your own feelings and choices will often lead you to confusion and difficulty, and it will certainly destroy you.” A commitment to always doing what is right will make a clear decision making process for any dilemma that may arise. Next, perverseness is defined as a deliberate desire to behave in a way that is unacceptable. It is so alarming to know that so many people intentionally conduct themselves in a way that is unsavory. People with moral standards should be aware to not associate with others who don’t have the best intentions. From a Christian standpoint, Jesus did everything that would be pleasing to God our Father. He was unwavering in His obedience to God and living a righteous life. People who are perverse live contrarily to God’s word, and inevitably end in chaos. This Proverb scripture encompasses the ideal that people who live right and are faithful to His word are being guided through their integrity, while destructions comes for the person who rejects God’s word. The explanation is simple—live safely by doing what is right, and face negative consequences by making bad and immoral decisions.

Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” I think this verse is very straight to the point. It sort of relates to the previous Discussion Post. Your integrity is your morals and foundation and you should act accordingly. God knows we are not perfect and temptation no matter what is, is always lurking in the corner to get you off focus and get you to do something that you should not or became a person a person you will not even recognize. I always say we are one situation away from being broken. All it takes is one mistake for you to end up in a bad situation.

I like to think Proverbs 11:3 gives you a warning of that. It is letting you know that although you may get away with the wrong doings it eventually catches up to you and all the wrong doing you did or negativity you put out returns to your life. In your life you should always act with integrity. Do not become persuaded easily to do the wrong thing. Refrain from doing any of the 10 commandments and live a honest life. Sometimes God puts the less than idealistic situations in our life just to see how we will react. You cannot rely on your own feelings but you must follow the word of God to have a prosperous life. You should do good things without expecting anything in return. Eventually those who do wrong in spite of his word will succumb to destruction.
